| MULTIPLE ACTION STOPS: UNNAMED |
|
forward edge - half spin - backward edge
|
|
Begin with an edge stop. Half way through (skates 45deg from original direction of travel),
switch trailing foot to face backward. You are now in sidesurf position (or position used
for spin stop). Allow enough of a rotation of the spin stop to get your trailing foot in-line
with net direction of travel. (You should be about 3/4 of the way to facing backward.)
Now flip leading foot from forward to backward and sweep back across the net path, as you would
in an backward edge stop. For added flair at the end, as part of the sweep of the edge stop,
rotate your feet so they are perpendicular to direction of travel to end the edge stop, much
in the way you'd switch from carving to sliding on ice skates.
